Renting designer clothing — this is a trend to follow!

What perfect timing! We just spent September watching spring designer fashions flaunt down the runway and provided tips on how to take them from runway to your every day. Now, for that special occasion, you don’t have to search for a knock off look, you can “rent” the real thing. A new site RenttheRunway.com offers you the chance to rent designer clothing for only a fraction of the cost. Key points:
- Cost is 10% of the retail price
- They send you 2 sizes (don’t want to risk it not fitting for your special occasion)
- You can rent more than one dress for the same event (a girl needs options)
- Return it with no fuss in their pre-paid, pre-addressed return envelope
And if this site alone isn’t deal enough, sign up through InStyle.com and the first 1,000 readers will receive 25% off their first purchase. Makes cents!

Hi,
I’m not sure if you are aware, but there is a company in the Chicagoland area that leases couture dresses as well. They don’t rent online, you have to go up to Lakeview, (near Leonna’s on Belmont and Sheffield).
BAD Couture (Borrow A Dress) is a cute little shop with really great owners. I’ve used them a few times, and so have my coworkers. They also rent purses as well and they were a God send for a gala I went to over the summer. Check them out
I just checked out the site http://www.shopbadc.com/. Looks great. I’ll have to visit it soon. Thanks for sharing!

[...] My pick for best dressed at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards — Sandra Bullock It is not because I absolutely LOVE Sandra Bullock and one of my favorite movies of all time is While You Were Sleeping. Nor is it because I love the color purple, well…maybe a little. But I think this dress is great. I love the sexiness of the sheer floor length over a mini that allows for showing off well toned legs. This is a dress for me but this designer dress by Bottega Veneta is way out of my price range so I will wait for it to hit the inventory of Rent the Runway. [...]
