Do you hate your mate’s style?
So I had an interesting question posed to me, “how do you tell your mate that you hate their style?” Hmmm…do you tell them and risk them feeling insecure around you? OR do you tell them in hopes that they will let you take charge of their wardrobe? OR do you say nothing and just love the good with the bad? Check out this video, some of Hollywood’s beauties seem to think it’s what’s inside that counts.

Great question Kim! The first question that needs to be posed is if a person is even attracted to the other person’s style to begin with. I mean, when you first meet a person isn’t the first thing that you look at is his/her style? I know back in my single days - long time ago, long long time ago - when i’d first see/spot a woman, i wouldn’t think to myself “oh, i bet she has a nice personality”. I’d look at her style and the way she dresses and looks! Let’s be honest here folks! Now, that “first impression” can always change over the course of your dating and or marriage. People gain/lose weight, don’t care anymore about their appearance, etc… If that were to occur, i think i would be straight up with my mate and just say in a nice way “sweetie, you know………. i think you’d lokk really nice in this outfit”. Or, “honey, lets go to this story and pick you out summer clothes”. Or, ” baby, look at this outfit in this magazine - do you like it”? I wouldn’t be mean, but i would definately say something. And vice versa - i would want my mate to tell me if she didn’t like what i was wearing or didn’t like my style. I’ll even ask “baby, do you like this outfit”? Or, “do you like this shirt with these pants”? Communication is everything - even when it comes to your mates “style”. Me personally, i would want my mate to look at me everytime and LOVE my style!
June 4th, 2009 at 11:49 amKim, i have to admit - i love my fiance’s style! She very fashion savvy! I think she likes the way i dress as well. Except for maybe this one time. We went to a baseball game last year, - and me dressing for the occasion - had on sweats and a long-sleeved tshirt. She looked at me and started laughing! I told her we are going to a BASEBALL game - noone “dresses up” for a baseball game! I was going to watch the game, pig out on food, and drink beer - basically making a mess on my clothes. So, there is no need to have fashion conscious clothes if i know i will be making a mess. So, my question to you Kim is this: should your mate “hate’ your style when you are dressing “down” for an occasion - in this case a baseball game? Besides, i’m a man - and men that go to baseball games wouldn’t wear a 3 piece suit! Needless to say - her being sexy and stylish as always - had on a “fashionable outfit”. She actually was fashionable AND elegant”!
