Tuesday News Day: Champagne Wishes and Caviar Dreams

I LOVE this…don’t let those New Years Eve appetizers and libations go to waste (although, I am not typically celebrating with caviar and I don’t think crab cakes are a suitable substitute):

After ringing in the New Year with good friends, delicious food and a lot of booze… we all know there will be plenty of leftovers the “morning-after.”  Marina Peredo, MD, founder of Spatique Medical Spa in Smithtown, NY, suggests these skin saving secrets using Champagne and Caviar.

In the rare chance you have leftover champagne, use it as a toner!   Champagne detoxifies the skin with antioxidants  and lightening tartaric acid helps even out the skin tone.  For those with oily skin, its antibacterial properties aid in leaving last year’s breakouts behind.

After washing your face, soak up a cotton ball with the left-over champagne and wipe all over face, neck and décolleté.  Be careful around the eyes…this is alcohol after all!  Let the champagne fully absorb into skin, leaving it will help to close pores, making the skin tight, firm, and glowing! **Please note, people with very sensitive or dry skin, should do a patch test on a small non-visible area.

Caviar, a household party favorite, is rich in amino acids, phospholipids and is full of vitamins A, D, B1, B 2 and B6.  Because their structure is similar to human skin cells, caviar has the ability speed up the natural production of collagen.  Whether you gulp it down or slather it on your face, the benefits can help you achieve a youthful appearance. How so, you may ask? The caviar helps firm, smooth and rejuvenate the skin to form that ageless exterior!

To make a caviar mask, simply apply the left-overs all over the face, neck and décolleté.  After 30 minutes, rinse off with lukewarm water; skin is left thoroughly hydrated and renewed!

Cheers to the New Year and your fabulous left-over finds for your face!
