I think my favorite fashion trend this 2011 season is Color Blocking. I do realize that all of that color mixing might be too much for some. Especially since my friends on facebook told me I was crazy for loving the over the top color blocked dress that Shaunie wore on the Basketball Wives reunion show.
So I pondered for a minute that so much color isn’t for everyone and then thought…if you want to wear the trend but not so boldly why not step on it? I do mean that literally. Wear it on your feet. What a great why to take that black suit or those solid traditional pieces and give them a kick. So I found color blocked shoes for under $150 at Nordstrom’s that will fit into every style maven’s wardrobe.
These Vince Camuto ‘Jasper’ Mary Jane Pumps ($118.95) are perfect for the more conservative ladies who just want a touch of the trend. The majority covered black suede shoe is neutral enough to go with just about anything and adds a pop of color with the berry colored platform and heel. Plus, the sturdy heel is sure to keep you well grounded.
Just slightly less conservative than the chick above? These Steve Madden ‘Bellahh’ Mary Jane Pumps keep you neutral yet a little more edgy with a stiletto heel and the mix of 3 colors. The nude color and black accents will help these pumps carry some edge to just about any outfit. Think about pairing them with textured hose and pencil skirts this fall.
Need more edge? Try these Jessica Simpson ‘Bendie’ Platform Sandals ($88.95) that mix patent leather with plush suede. Yes, I said sandal but add great tights and you can easily weather the winter storm. Paired with skirts and/or slacks you will definitely drive someone to have a foot fetish.
Still need to take it up a notch? Take it up your leg with these shocking Jeffrey Campbell ‘Munroe’ Pumps ($149.95). These shocking colored wrap pumps will draw attention at every step. Put don’t pair them with pants because who would want to lose the view of the orange wraps?
All of these great options will work when you want to be creative (for your style) paired with something more demure or color block the rest of your outfit and drive controversy like Shaunie. What do you think? Leave a comment below.
