According to a 2007 American Time Use Study, 45.7% of people run errands on the weekends.* So if you work a 9 to 5, Monday through Friday, you are likely to be a part of this 45.7% of people. So that makes it likely you will run into folks you know while in the grocery store or Home Depot. My experience suggests that many people don’t think about how to dress when they head out the door to run errands. But wouldn’t you be mortified if you ran into your boss in weekend wear that made you look like Pippi Longstocking – so many colors you make his head hurt or clothes so badly worn that he would hate for you to tell people you worked for his/her company? And what if you are single and looking to meet someone new? Working so many hours during the work week, you are likely to meet him when you are running errands. Does your weekend wear make you approachable?
Now I know some of you are thinking, “my weekend wear always looks great even when I am only running errands” and I applaud you. Leave a comment and let me know how you pull it together on the weekends so we can share with others. But for you others, watch the video for 3 tips for how to dress when running errands.
