This makes sense:

What to wear to a summer picnic

I am heading out, albeit very late, to a huge summer picnic.  I plan to eat lots so as I thought about my strategy for getting dressed, I thought I would share it with you too:

1.  Separates and layers — I would never wear a romper to a summer picnic because if I spill something, I have ruined the entire outfit.  Instead, I choose separates — easy shorts or skirts and tops.  Yes, tops plural.  I like to layer a little so if I spill something, I can take off a top and still have a clean outfit on.  Now you can do this by carrying an extra top too.  (P.S.  Great idea for kids too.)

2.  Comfortable shoes — this isn’t the time to show off how you can walk in 5 inch heels.  Comfort is key.  Wedges are great and so are…am I really saying this…flip flops.

3.  Crossbody bag — if you have got to carry a bag make sure it is easy to handle and leaves your hands free.  How else will you balance your plate and drink?

Fossil, Victoria's Secret, Mossimo, Lord & Taylor

Have fun in the sun!

I had such a great time at the picnic, I was the tall thin young lady you video taped and I had on the ruffle top jean romper , sporting my Jackie O glasses and comfortable flats,I am hoping my look was an exception to the rule as I thought exactly like you stated. I said if I were to drop something on myself , at least it was a dark blue jean romper and I could just wipe off and coniune to be a fashionista!!! I hope you enjoyed yourself as well.
