Okay, it is getting warm out and their are so many cute tops and dresses that make wearing a typical bra impossible. Now many people (as evidenced by all of the people I saw today) think they can go bra-less…NOT!
As I walked around the city with a friend of mine marveling at how people could let their breasts sag into their tops and pondering if I should give them cards (I was afraid they would get offend), she (my friend) told me about the pencil test. I had never heard of this before but I love it!
A pageant director once told her that he made all of his “girls” do this. They were instructed to put a pencil under their breasts (no, it didn’t have to be a #2 pencil) and if the pencil fell they didn’t have to wear a bra. If the pencil didn’t fall, they needed a bra. This meant that the breasts hung enough to grasp the pencil.
Trust me, this works AND it even works to discern if you need a new bra or need to tighten the straps. So try it bra-less and with a bra. You might find you need a little lift. Make sense?
P.S. Make sure the pencil lead isn’t too sharp.
