The Inverted Triangle Shape

This body shape is defined by shoulders that are wider than the hips and a defined waist.  This is my body!  I took this picture with my trainer years ago but it was the best one I could find.  The photo illustrates how broad my shoulders are and how narrow my hips are — my shoulders are a full 5 inches wider than my hips. 

So how to achieve balance?

  • Pleats that help to add width around the hips (like the dress here)
