I always get a ton of compliments on this outfit. These are all just basic pieces that you should already have in your closet but I thought I’d break it down for you.
Ann Klein Grey Sheath Dress — I bought it when I was out shopping with a client. I found it for her for $29 at Bloomingdale’s. It was such a great deal, I grabbed one for myself too. I have had it for 3 years and it is always current. It is the perfect length for work since it stops right at the knee.
J. Crew Button Down Shirt — I bought this one years ago to go with brown pants. It is another classic that is current every year. I pair it with jeans, slacks and even under skirt suits.
Old Navy Argyle Sweater — Only cost me $15. I bought it this year in order to give the grey dress a different look. It was important for the sweater to have a deep-v in order for it the shirt and dress combo on top to be visual. I also wasn’t afraid of mixing patterns — the argyle sweater with the stripes of the button down.
Loehmann’s Pearls — I bought these this year too and as you can see from the pearl video, I wear them with EVERYTHING.
Brown Suede Pumps — I could have done grey too but I consider brown to be the new black. The suede texture makes the outfit look a little more luxe. Black would not have worked, would look to heavy on the bottom.
Spanx Grey Tights — They make me look smooth since the dress is fitted. I chose grey to length my silhouette. If the tights were a different color it would break up the vertical line and make my body look shorter.
