So how do you plan on bringing in the New Year.  Whether it is a intimate dinner for two or a black tie for hundreds make sure you make the right fashion statement. Do you want to be a tigress or channel Carrie (SITC)? You have got lots of options.  But picking the perfect New Year’s Eve outfit is more than just picking the right style, it’s picking the right price point too. Don’t start the new year accumulating more unnecessary debt.  Think about it, if you are heading out to a fabulous event that requires you to wear something more than jeans and a cute top, you will not likely get a lot of wear out of the outfit thus wasting money.  So don’t spend a fortune on what could be a one time wear! Rent your dress instead!

You need more lost cost, high fashion options?  Here are a few:

• If you are in Chicago, try Borrow A Dress Couture – similar to Rent the Runway but you can actually go into the store and try the dresses on. 
• Consignment Shops — find a gently used, current dress for your one night and then SELL IT BACK.
• Girlfriends — Find that friend or friend of a friend who is your size and has great taste and designer budget. Ask her if you can shop her closet. You can offer to buy or rent. She’ll likely be happy to get rid of a dress that she doesn’t get much use out of and make money out of the deal too.
