Okay, so yesterday we covered the trends already (or should have already been in your closet). Today we’ll cover the new ones. I love these three — volume, flowers, and metallic.
Christian Siriano
1. These really full, voluminous looks can make the full figure woman look huge and the the thin woman look lost in the outfit. So I would challenge you to avoid this look or shop V-E-R-Y carefully to make sure that the massiveness doesn’t over take you.
2. Now, if it does work for your frame, you’ll have to hit some of the specialty stores for this one. Try online sample sales so you can look in vogue and still be financially smart.
FLOWERS
Dennis Basso
1. April Showers bring May Flowers and there will certainly be plenty of them this coming Spring. Stay in trend by adding a little flower corsage to your lapel or go trendy overboard with flowers galore. Either way you’ll feel feminine.
2. This trend will be everywhere too. Can’t find a corsage? Stop at your local florist — fresh and fashionable. Want to go avante garde? Hit the boutiques like bluefly for trendy at discounted prices.
METALLIC
1. I alsways laugh that this is a trend because where does it ever really go? It’s the fabric of our evening handbags and shoes. It’s plastered on cool t-shirts, trimmed around our favorite dresses, belted around our waist and of course, accessorized on our arms and necks. But this season it will be even more of it. So this season get daring and don’t keep the metallics only for evening wear. Try mixing it into your work and playwear. It will add a little cha-ching to your look.
2. This look will be EVERYWHERE. So if you don’t plan on hanging on to it for long, try Forever 21, Target, and Aldo. Want to keep it for more than one season? Shop for more quality pieces when the Spring sales start.
Now since we’ve wrapped up Spring and Summer is technically over today, I guess I should tell you what the fall trends are huh? See me tomorrow.
