Well, it is all over. What an exciting week of fashion. There was LOTS to love but how do you par it all down and make sense of what makes sense and cents for you? Well, let’s start with what’s already in your closet. These are trends from this year that will be back in full force next Spring. So let’s review: 1) if it is your style and 2) where you might get deals on the trend NOW if it is not already in your closet (although it should be, we talked about these).
NEUTRAL TONES
1. Whose style isn’t this? We can all wear the monochromatic, neutral look and honestly sometimes it’s nice to look just clean and chic.
2. If you don’t already have items in your closet, it’s your fault. This look was in this Spring/Summer. I talked about it on Chicago’s ABC7 months ago. Check it out in the blog post Get Naked…. Where can you still buy it? It’s everywhere. No breaking the bank for this look.
PEEK-A-BOO
Doo-Ri
1. The runways were packed with this look — sheer panels, cut-outs, slits, mesh, lace…you get it, BODY showing. So can you wear this look? Of course you can. A little conservative? Check out the post Sheer Trend. I show you how you can wear it too.
2. Are the pieces in your closet? If not, shop the end of season sales NOW for Spring 2010. You’ll find tons of great pieces that will be perfect for next spring and plus, you can mix some of them into your fall wardrobe (tops under blazers) for wear now. Here’s a piece from Ann Taylor and you can even wear it now.
Make sure you visit stores too. There will me more options on that clearance rack than what’s list on the website.
OFF THE SHOULDER/ASYMMETRICAL
Dennis Basso
Donna Karan
1. Yep, you can wear this too. I combined the two because if you don’t want to show your shoulders, there is still an asymmetrical look for you (like the Kenneth Cole Trench Coat below). And the other great thing about this trend…the lines are vertical so it helps to make you appear slimmer. Love it, right?
2. Is it in your closet. Another should be already. I wrote the post One Shoulder Trend last month. This is definitely hanging on the clearance racks. And you can possible throw a top under this fall’s favorite suit for interesting lines.
Well, that covers 3 trends but there are some new comers … VOLUME and metallic. Visit the blog for the update on those tomorrow.
