What influence did Michael Jackson have on their winners’ styles? Read below:
Michael Jackson was very unique and not afraid to push the envelope when choosing his attire. As a child I had a purple leather and jean jacket with a lot of zippers! It would remind you of the Michael’s red leather jacket that he wore in the Beat It video. It was one of my favorite pieces, but I didn’t wear it too often, because I wanted it to make a statement the times that I did wear it (And it did!) I had a few other unique pieces while growing up and I continue to enjoy purchasing a “not so conservative” top, shoe or bracelet every once in a while. I feel that it keeps me unique and semi-trendy while still embracing my love for the classic and conservative look! Michael was not a fraid to let his individuality shine by pairing closet basics with a touch of JAZZ. I love Michael for showing the world what Diversity really means! I will always keep him in mind when I have to choose between a comfy brown flat to wear to work or an orange flat for comfort and style! — Robin

Michael Jackson has not only been a fashion icon for me, but has also been my source of artistic inspiration since I was just a little girl. The first album I owned for myself was HIStory and immediately fell in love with the black jacket with gold decorations that was used when he performed Jam on the Dangerous tour, as well as being on the statue for the HIStory album promotion. Just last year I designed a dress to wear to a Christmas party that was based on many of the designs he wore over the years. I had the black fedora, a white sparkly glove, as well as a red dress that had black accents like the Thriller jacket and zippers randomly on the sleeves like the Beat It jacket. I still to this day mimic his style in my everyday dress, and will continue that legacy for countless years to come. To me, he is not only the King of Pop, but the King of Fashion as well. Rest well, sweet King. — Rio
