Today I had on a floral skirt and someone said to me, “you are still trying to get your summer clothes in.” I thought to myself.. “whatever, don’t you know that the last day of summer is September 21st?” But I did smile outwardly.
It is interesting that even though we are no longer in school, we let the school calendar dictate our wardrobe. Remember those days when you went school shopping and got all of those great fall/cold weather clothes – corduroys, sweaters, etc. It didn’t matter HOW HOT it was on the first day of school, you were wearing something new.
Well, you are an adult now. You can let the weather dictate your wardrobe and not whether or not school is in. Just because you got a great new flannel piece doesn’t mean you have to wear it immediately, especially when the temperature is 70+ degrees out.
