Okay, so yesterday I went to check out a new gym with one of my girlfriends. I love taking fitness classes — cycling and kickboxing. So before I switch gyms I have to make sure that the instructors at the new gym will be at least as good as or better than my current ones…right?
So we get to the gym and they let me try out a class. Kickboxing!!!! Yeah! I walk in and OMG — the instructor looks like Ben Stiller in Dodgeball (but not as fit). He has long white socks over his very tight black workout pants and a headband! I can hardly stay in the class. Now I am not the most fashionable person in the gym but I don’t want someone instructing me who looks like Jane Fonda trained them. I want a cool instructor who has the latest moves and techniques.
It made me think about how important it is that we look like who we claim we are, make sense? I am just not motivated to pay for services or take advice from people who don’t look the part. So here are my Inexcusable Eight — the eight people I wouldn’t pay for their services or take their advice if their image wasn’t right:
1. Nail Technician with Dirty Nails — if she can’t take care of her own nails, how can I trust her with mine.
2. Hair Stylist with Split Ends — if his or her hair isn’t healthy, I won’t trust them to keep my hair healthy.
3. Out of Shape Group Fitness Instructor — if they are not fit why would I believe I’d get fit by taking their class.
4. Fashion Advice from People with No Style — self-explanatory!
5. Dentist with Raggedy Teeth — no way will they get inside my mouth.
6. Esthetician who Needs a Facial — I would think that she or he wouldn’t know about the right products to keep my face healthy.
7. Makeup Artist who Doesn’t Wear Makeup — you can’t tell if they will make you look like Mimi from the Drew Carey Show.
8. Tailor whose Clothes Don’t Fit — really, why would I ever think I’d have a perfect fit after services there?
