This was our first episode. What do you think?
We really wanted you to see that you don’t have to throw out your entire wardrobe and start from scratch to have a great look. You can stick with some of the basics that work well for you and just add a few inexpensive items to upgrade the look.
Connie was a great example (and fun to work with too). We took Connie’s look up a notch for only $75! And, don’t think of this as spending that money on one outfit, she’ll wear that jacket, purse and jewelry often with lots of other items in her closet. For example, the puffer jacket that was only $20.98 on sale (now it is on clearance for $14.99) could be paired with khakis or other cotton pants for a great work casual look.
She often carries bigger bags during the day but when she goes to a game she just sticks her things in her pockets. Now this cross-body bag ($24.99) is not only practical (it can hold all of her goodies) but it is also comfortable as well. She doesn’t have to worry about holding on to it the bag while at a game or even shopping (and it is much more fashionable than those fanny packs people are determined to continue carrying).
The other items are easy to see how to mix them into your wardrobe. The turtleneck can be worn under a sweater or blazer or even alone with a great necklace (it was only $14.99). And the jewelry we just kept simple because we didn’t want them to be pieces that only worked with one outfit; we truly wanted her to get her wear out of the dangling gold earrings ($5.99) and cuff bracelet ($7.99).
Connie actually wore this new outfit to a game the night we taped. She got tons of compliments. It just really proves that it doesn’t take a lot to upgrade your look.
Make sense?
